This is a Project Manager position within the Reference Data team responsible for the bank’s client data across-assets. The team maintains a number of strategic repositories both in-house and vendor supplied that source, maintain, validate and distribute reference data to all systems in the firm. As a result of a recent merger, the area is undergoing significant change with a number of high profile project initiatives in 2010.

 

 

Main Duties

The candidate will be responsible for managing our relationship with the Wealth division for all Counterparty related project work.Partnering with the Operations project manager, they will participate in planning, prioritisation discussions and reporting status. They will be the liaison between Wealth and our department’s IT project managers assigned to the Wealth development projects.

The candidate will also be assigned to manage development projects as their workload permits. They will produce project documentation and project plans to team standard, and within current in-house project methodology, to allow business sign off and development action. They will provide support and oversight of implementation through project completion. 
 
Additional duties include:

• Liaise with business teams to define & document project Terms of Reference and initial definition phase project plan


• Liaise with external business and IT teams to gather and define detailed requirements and functional specifications for the IT system implementation


• Project Manage, contribute to & co-ordinate system implementations through the project phases (analysis / design, testing, roll-out and hand-over) working with other teams on a local and global basis


• Create and maintain full project plan for every project


• Liaise with the development team to gather estimates for development in order to include into the project plan


• Project management reporting includes reporting to senior stakeholders, milestone tracking and RAG status reporting.


• Support the management of project work streams to lead, guide and assist other team members, ensure quality and timeliness of delivery and assist in use and enhancement of team methodologies


• Ensure all work meets prescribed standards in design and quality


• Document all work and communications to a high professional standard

Experience Required

• Recent proven Project Management experience for small to medium sized projects


• Experience leading meetings and working sessions with senior stake holders


• Proven business and functional analysis skills particularly in a process re engineering or post-merger environment


• Proven experience in gathering requirements from senior project stakeholders who are in multiple global locations

Experience Preferred

• Knowledge of client data and processes such as KYC (know-your-client).

Skills / Aptitude Required

• Ability to effectively plan and prioritise to set and meet deadlines.


• Ability to identify and appropriately escalate issues and risks, and consider solutions.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Effective at communicating clearly via e-mails, telephone & in meetings.


• MS Excel/Word/Powerpoint/Project - Intermediate


• Visio - Intermediate


• Analytical & methodical approach to problem solving


• Precise (attention to detail)


• Very well organised - able to manage multiple work-streams effectively.


• Deliver high quality, professional work to specification.


• Hands-on business and functional analysis skills 


• Proven use of analysis techniques / approaches for quality requirement gathering.


• Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements for technical usage. 


• Proven ability to work in a global team environment. Users based in UK, US and AP.


• Must be able to work effectively either independently & as a team member.


• Able to work the long hours when required to deliver a project on time


• A "can do" attitude - willingness to accept challenges & solve problems.
